Scrapbooking, and what goes with it.com weblog

I was reading my daughters blog, and she made a comment about there not being “any” food in our house.  So I left a comment that there is food here perhaps it’s not the food that she would like or is interested in eating, and the last time I checked she knew where the grocery store was.    When she come out of her room she commented to me about the blog and that she removed my rude post.  Now I don’t understand how my comment was rude but her posting on the internet for anyone and everyone to read isn’t rude.  Not saying that because she was rude I could be also, but not sure what I said was all that rude.

So the question is…  Why is it okay to post that there is no good food, but not okay to suggest she go to the grocery store and get what she would like?

I went to the grocery store and picked up what was on the list and a few things that weren’t and as I was unpacking what I purchased, it come to me that what I bought she isn’t going to eat anyway, so why make a comment like that.

Sometimes people should think before they speak.

how does a girl get to be so luck.

yesterday 6 friends and I went on a scrapbooking field trip.  We went to one of my favorite stores in Antioch,   Hannah’s Home Accents they have a wonderful scrapbooking section.  And then we went to Scrap Fancy in Arlington Heights,  I only purchased papers for layouts that I have pictures for.  I am trying very hard to only purchase when I have a need.  And I have been cropping at home and needed some new paper.  We went out to lunch and got home about 4:00.

Then today I had to go and pick up a package from UPS and it had several dies from Quickutz to create a make n take for there new Epic Six machine.  And this afternoon the UPS man delivered my Epic Six machine and I can’t wait until I can start playing with it.  On first sight not sure that I love it, but will give it a try.  Unlike the Revolution tool the plate is not magnetic and the dies slip around.

Or that’s how I am looking at it.  Yesterday in my email box I received an email from quickutz, (now I don’t know if everyone got this but I like to think that only a few were chosen and one of them was me.)

They are looking for Quickutz Ambassadors, there was a short survey that you had to take and then send a photo of yourself and a 2 page layout that you used quickutz on.  Now the photo of me, not hard to find however the 2 page layout was a little more difficult not to find but to decide which one to use.

So I am keeping my fingers crossed that I am one of the lucky ones picked.  Talk about a dream come true.  I would be in heaven cause you know that I LOVE QUICKUTZ.

have a special place in my heart.  Years ago while at the lake over the 4th of July my husband, brother and 2 cousins while out fishing decided that they were going to quit their jobs and become pirates.  Now keep in mind that one of them is the ceo of a company, one is a financial adviser, one a computer programmer and one is a truck driver.  Once they came back and told the wives their plans they somehow changed their minds.  Not sure how that happened but it was a fun dream job while it lasted.

Here is another layout from my Disney trip

and one to go.  Catie is officially done with her Junior year of college and all her stuff is now on the living room floor waiting for someone (me) to put it away.  We were working on it together and I sat down for 2 seconds and she is not sleeping (and snoring) on the couch.  I have picked up the big things and pack some stuff up to bring to good will tomorrow, but for the most part I am done for the night.

Saturday we will get to do this all over again when we come home with Hannah.  Not complaining at all it’s kinda nice to have her home.

I just got a call from Hannah that she has finished her first year of college.

And let me tell you that it was a rough year to say the least.  I never would have believed anyone if they told me how much I would have missed her.  I am looking forward to having her home.  I know it is going to be a little crazy in the beginning, but I hope and pray that we will all adjust and get thru the summer.

For those of you asking she is planning on returning to the great state of Michagen in the fall and I guess we will play the whole missing you game over.  Maybe this time she will have a better understand of college life and better luck with a roommate.

As for Catie she is done tomorrow.  Rick is going tonight to help her move her stuff out. And then she will be home on Thursday.

since Rick was not going to be home, I brought scrapbooking stuff home to work on and I managed to get 2 pages semi completed.  All I have to do is add titles when I get to work and have access to my Quickutz.  (they are just t heavy to carry back and forth)

as I was sitting at the computer “facespacing”, it dawned on me that the girls will be home in 24 days.  Not sure if it was a dawn, excitement or fear.  They have been on their own for sometime now, able to come and go as they please, and I just hope that we all can adjust to this new independence that they have acquired.

Wish me luck

purchased something with the thought of giving it away and then when it is time to give it away you keep it for yourself.  Well I can say that happened to me today.

Hannah collects big h’s that she decorates and hangs on her wall’s in her room at home and her dorm room.  So I was shopping at JoAnn Fabric and came across this huge H and thought about buying it for an Easter gift but decided it was to big to ship.  As I was shopping I was talking to Rick on the phone and he convinced me to get it and ship it anyway.  So I picked it up with the intention of shipping it to Michigan unfinished.  Well today I decided to decorate it and one thing led to another it turned out so cute that I decided to keep it for myself and send her the other stuff I got her, minus the huge H  Sorry Hannah, but I will let you look at the next time you are home.

my purpose in life April 3, 2009

Filed under: chatter, daily — pattichurch @ 8:10 am

is something that I never thought I would question.  However with both girls gone off to college, I find myself questioning it daily.  Now don’t get me wrong I have a good life.  Plenty of friends and family that care about me.  A wonderful husband and two delightful daughters. and an awesome dog.  But shouldn’t there be more, and then again shouldn’t that be enough.  I guess I am just throwing myself a little pity party.

I never realized that having the girls gone would leave such an emptiness.  I love talking, texting or instant messaging them to some degree it makes me a part of their lives.  I know that the light at the end of the tunnel is raising them to move on with their lives but I never thought it would be this hard.

Hannah will not be coming home for Easter and that makes me sad. It will be the first holiday with out her.  At least I will have Rick and Catie to spend it with and I need to be grateful for that.

Enough of my pity, it was just on my mind and thought I would share it.

Have a great weekend and create something fun.
