stopped by the police December 28, 2008

Yes it is true, today on the way home from church I got pulled over for speeding.  Now let me start out by saying it has been 13 years since I have had a traffic ticket, and this is something that I am very proud of.  However my delightful daughter Catie (whom was in the car today) can not say the same thing.  She has received 3 speeding tickets and even attended traffic school.  So when the police officer pulled me over the delight in her face was priceless.  I joked that it was our friend, who is an officer and he just wanted to say hi.  Well it was someone that we know and when I said hello to him, he gave me back my license and said have a nice day.  I can’t seem to stop laughing, but Catie is very ticked off.

I did try and explain that this was one of those instances that its not what you know but who you know.

So I will try and learn the lesson of slowing down, the cost of the ticket would not be worth getting to the destination quicker.

The paper is luxe design, and tinkering ink,  the journal box is from quickutz jolly holiday gift set.  the bling is prima and the flower and button are from my stash.  I used the bind it all from zutter to create the book.

Christmas at the Churchs December 19, 2008

So yesterday we went and picked up Hannah from school, and it was quite a delightful day.  A long day but a very nice one.  The weather was wonderful as was the company.

When we arrived back home, the girls and I decorated the house for Christmas.  They took care of the tree and I did the rest of the decorations.  It looks good and festive.

Just a few of the photos I have.  Will show you the completed pages when they are done.

I only have one kind of cookie to finish baking and one more package to purchase, however none of them are wrapped, and I still have to grocery shop for Christmas Eve Dinner.  I will be a busy little elf in the next days.

Well the answer would be me!!!!!

Check out the new button jars I got today from Ikea.  (the store that I love).  Well I am working on a button christmas tree and needed to purchase tons of red, green and white buttons  however I could not find them anywhere, so I had to order them from Oriental Trading Co.  But they didn’t have just the colors I needed so I am getting 2000 new buttons and needed somewhere to house them.

I did promise Catie that she could use some as long as she asked.  Now I just have to wait for the rest to be delivered.  And then sort them into there approiate jars.

]img_02664Well with thanksgiving over I guess it is enevitable that, that wonderful holiday is just around the corner.  Now for those that know me you know how much I love Christmas.  So for those that don’t I am not a fan at all of this holiday.  There is not much about it that I embrace or even pretend to like.  But I am trying to learn to like it.

So I created this cute sign, perhaps it is to remind me.  My good friend Stephenie has picked a word every year to discribe herself, and perhaps this will be my word for 2009.
