weekend fun October 30, 2008
This weekend Rick and I went to my Aunts cottage on Lake Wisconsin to help take out the pier. We also got to go to a pumpkin farm and an apple orchard.
Fall is my favorite time of year. I think that has to do with the fact that my paternal Grandmother loved fall and it always reminds me of her. Well while out shooting some fall colors this weekend my cousing Jeff and I were talking about how we both love the fall season and he gave the same reason that I did. I thought that was kinda cool.
Now the pumpkin farm is just that a farm that grows pumpkins, they have them in their front lawn and there is a slot that you place your money in. I promise I am not making fun of this, it was quite nice to go and pick a pumpkin and not have to pay to get into the “good” pumpkins. There were no pony rides or even carnival rides. Just plain old pumpkins, gourds, indian corn and assorated squash.
The Apple Orchard was a good time also, My Cousins Wife Jen, called it an Apple Warehouse, and that probably discribed it better. It was an orchard that they had already picked all the apples, so you just went in and purchased what you wanted. They had all different varieties of apples, donuts, turnovers, carmel apples and pies. We bought a pie and took it home and it was great.
The colors were great, the weekend was a great time with family and creating memories. I have inserted a few ( and trust me this is just a few) of the picutres that I took.

On Tuesday morning I sent some halloween packages to Hannah and her suite mates in Mi. and our friend Katie in NC. Well this afternoon I got a call from Hannah that there boxes arrived and a great big thank you from her, lydia and jherica. Then I was checking email and blogs and came across my darling daughters latest post and it just made me laugh. Iknow I say this so much that it makes people want to slap me but the truth just needs to be said. She is one of no change that, she is the funniest person that I know. She makes me laugh when I read her blog, talk on the phone to her or even instant messaging and texting. I don’t want to hurt anyones feelings ( you know who you are catie) but she is just funny. Everyone has a strong point and hers is humor. So go check out her post and let me know what you think.

We did some remolding at the store in the last couple of weeks, and I have a new display cabinet in the front that I am going to place seasonal and or new items in. This jar a bought a million years ago and it had colored popcorn in it. We popped the corn along time ago and I have had the empty jar and I just wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with it. Well I cut some halloween paper strips and curled them and placed them in the jar along with a few quickutz halloween dies. (cause you know I do nothing with the quickutz). Tied some ribbon on the top and wha-la, a cute decoration for a table or desk.

I loved these pictures so much that I had to scrap them today. I had a different title on this but I didn’t like the way it looked and when I peeled it off it left some adhesive residue, so I used ink to cover it up.

great day at great america October 13, 2008
So yesterday Catie and I went to Great America with some friends (Tammy and Trisha) and we had the best day. The weather was perfect, the crowds were not bad, and the times were great fun. In October they change the park into “Fright Fest” all the rides change names to spooky ones. Well we rode Superman, Batman, The American Eagle, and The Viper for roller coasters and then a couple of spinning twirling ones, had lunch saw a show and called it a day. Oh hey we even say some characters they were dressed up in costume. I kinda thought that was funny if you think about it. A person dresses up as a rabbit who then dresses up as a vampire. Talk about an identity crisis

I made this at the crop last night. Well to be honest the bottom box I had made during the week, but didn’t like it so I took it apart and remade it and LOVE IT.
Not sure what I’m going to put in it, but I have the perfect place for it. Now my next project is a paper mache’ house, the plan is to make it into a haunted house, hopefully that wont take me until next halloween. If I finish it I will post it I promise

bag book October 10, 2008
I was asked by one of my customers to come into her class and teach a scrapbooking something. Well this will be the 5th or 6th year that I have done this, it is a fun morning but I always have a tough time trying to figure out what to make. They are 8th graders and some of them bring picutres and some don’t. I also have a tough time with the teaching a class concept, it bugs me when people take a class and then change the design. I understand their reasoning but it still bugs me. (sorry for the rant, not what this post is about.) So I came up with this bag book, not a new concept but different then a page (my thought is perhaps they don’t scrapbook and what would you do with a page and no book) so the bag book gives them the chance to scrapbook and they get to take a completed book away with them.
I used quickutz for the flowers, title and page tabs, I also used the silhouette for the brackets. When I was just about done, I counted the number of shapes and the number of times I had to punch them out and let me just share that it was ALOT!!!!

Hannah text messages me that she wants to study abroad in costa rica. Still waiting for the details, and Catie calls to talk about her love life.

So I am a hug 90120 fan you know the old show with Brandon and Brenda. Well when I heard that they were making a newer version of this show, I was quite excited. Well it aires on Tuesday nights when my friend Melissa is over (she has been coming over for dinner since the original aired) Now I know she’s not a big fan of the show but she humors me and watches it with me. Well last night they made a real fan out of her. The parents made a reference to the movie “dirty dancing” you all know the line “nobody puts baby in a corner” well that was it for Melissa she announced that she was now a fan of the show. We’ll see if she remembers that statement next week when she gives me grief about watching it.
I do have to say that the show is growing on me. Any fans out there other than me?
