Well it’s tuesday and that means bowling,  Went this morning and then was supose to go to the Hornickels, but after bowling I just didn’t feel very well so decided to postpone till next week and come home.  Good thing I did cause I feel really terrible. trying not to get to graffic here.  So next thing is to go and lay down and see if this feeling will pass. 

Hope your day is better them mine. 

I did work last night on some crafts (not scrapbooking) I use to do craft shows and have some left over stuff hanging around and there is a girl that I bowl with that brings fall items into the bowling alley to sell and she talked me into bringing mine, so I decided to complete a few more and am glad I did cause they sold and I even got orders for stuff I only had 1 of.  So I hope to get some photos and then I will post them to share with you.

Hannah September 29, 2008

So this weekend I held a SCRAPPINK CROP at the store, and it was a grand success.  There were 20 ladies that attended and I think all had a great time.  Needless to say I did not get much done, other then putting out food and cleaning up from the food that I put out.  Oh yeah I also gave away tons of raffle prizes. 

However late into the evening when all the food was done and the raffles were over I did manage to complete the following layout.  It is of my hannah when she was little.  I was looking through some old photos for a different picture and ran across these and just had to use them.  Now before you all go postal on me I am not playing favorites, I do plan on making a page of catie also.  Just need to find some photos.

So tonight my hannah is coming home to visit.  I am so excited to see her that it’s not even funny.  She was having a pretty rough week this week, she was sick and home sick all at the same time. 

Hopefully gettng to come home, even for a short visit will help.  She also applied for a job, so maybe that will get her mind off not being home.  Not sure what to do for her.  But it breaks my heart when she is sad.

So this coming weekend I will be hosting a SCRAP PINK all day crop at the store, and this is going to be the make n take that we will be doing. 

I cut the cofin by hand, and trust me it took me several attempts to get it right, the rest is Quickutz.  Boo is diesel grand, witch hat, spider web (archivers exclusive) ghost, moon, bat the tombstone is the dog tag that I cut the top off of, and the dirt is the cloud that I cut in half.  The pumpkins are felt shapes from Queen and Co.

So what are your thoughts on cell phones?  I find them to be the most annoying thing on the planet.  It is a huge pet peeve of mine to go into a store and have the clerk yapping on their phone, and give you the “look” like you are bothering them and have to put their personal call on hold to help a paying customer.  Same goes for text messaging, my girls both text ALL THE TIME, however when we are home and doing a family thing I make them put them away and not answer or respond to their friends when they call or text.  It amazes me how many people communicate via texting.  Not long ago there was a customer that came into the store that I work at, and when she found out that we had the merchandise that she was looking for she said “oh I’m going to text my daughter and let her know” I said that was nice, she can tell her class when she goes into school tomorrow where to get said supplies.  The mothers response was “no shes in class right now”.  

The sad part of this whole story is when that childs phone get taken away because it is school policy to not have phone on or in use during school hours.  The parent is going to be all bent out of shape that this happened to her child. 

Enough of my ranting, just my opinion

hair cut September 11, 2008

I cannot believe the ordeal over a hair cut, but then again I can’t believe how unhappy I was with this cut. 

I had planned on going back to the place where I got it cut and asking them to re cut it, but then I decided not to.  I felt kinda weird doing that.  So I went to a different place and explained my dilemma and she was very nice.  I showed her the picture and she agreed that what I got wasn’t what I asked for, so she began to cut and then she styled and I still didn’t like it.  So we then talked about what I didn’t like and how I would like it to look and we came up with what I got.  And lets just say it looks nothing like the picture that I brought in,  But I do LOVE it this time.

 

So thanks to the new haircut lady and to Keith for taking the picture.  I just hope that I can make it look like this tomorrow. 

Looking at it now it is really short, not my plan in the beginning, but I do LOVE it!!!!

So today at work I found these really cool frames.  Try thinking digital picture frame without the digital part.

 

You can load 12-40 pictures into it and then I emblished the front.  There is a tray that pulls out and when you push it back in it will change the picture.

It would be a great gift for someone that has a desk and not alot of room.  We care them at the store so come in and take a look.

haircut September 10, 2008

So today I went and got my hair cut.  And let me tell you I don’t think I like it.  First off the lady that cut it was the most unfriendly person I have ever met.  She had the sense of humor of a toad if that much.  I went in with a picture and stated that I wanted it to look like the picture but I wanted the bangs shorter.  So she is cutting away and you know when you get that feeling that you aren’t going to like it no matter what it looks like.  Well that’s the feeling I had.  So she gets done and says what do you think, I turn and look in the mirror and had to hold back the tears.  Her timer goes off and she has to go rinse out a perm, so I just sit there in the chair starring at my ugly hair and I begin to think it’s not that bad knowing all the time that yes it is.  I hate it.  So when she comes back she says “what do you think” I and said the left side is shorter then the right side.  Her response is that because the lift side is curled under.  (now for those of you that know me you know that my hair is as straight as an arrow and there is no chance that it is curling under) so she says she can cut it if thats what I want.  Well to be honest I want it to look nice (and it doesn’t).  So without even measuring she begins to hack at my hair again!!!!  She then decides I will like it better if she dries it and curls it.  Cause you know it always looks better when you style it.  Well guess again, still hate it.  So I go to pay and the lady behind the counter tells me how much she loves my new cut, and it will look better when I style it myself, cause it always does. 

I would love to include a picture with this post, but just can’t bring myself to post a picture of this ugly hair cut.  I know it’s just hair and it will grow back.  All the mother sayings about hair are running thru my head.  And lets be honest it is after all just hair, and it will grow back.  And always remember when the day is done,  it is just hair. 

So if by chance I love it tomorrow after I style it myself (cause you know that helps), I promise I will post a picture.

This layout was inspired by a sample I found in an old basic grey catalog.  The problem I had with it was it was a one picture one page layout.  So I had to adapt it to fit more pictures and into a double page.  I have way to many picutres of an event to only use one of them.  So I think I made this work pretty well.

So Hannah has been gone for a week now, and yesterday I was talking to my friend hornickel via email and we were discussing what I missed the most with Hannah gone, and I decided that the thing I miss the most is the laughter.  Hannah is probably one of the funniest people that I know.  Not that she tries, she just is.  Her facial expressions, her comments, and the way that she tells a story, just makes me laugh thinking about it. 

I think people are put in our lives for certian reasons, and Hannah was placed here for the laughter. 

On a completely different subject, I had picutres of the layouts that I worked on this weekend and was going to post, but our computer crashed and I have to retake them.  Hope to do that today and get them loaded tonight or tomorrow.
