So last night I cropped with some of my friends at the store and I worked on a page for my book.  Not sure the last time I did that.  I have been working on a 9×9 book for a customer and then I did an address book for Hannah to take to school.  (I will post that project soon), there were also several premade pages to sell in the store.  But last night I did a layout with some cute pictures I took of Lucy.

pattern paper scenic route, magic mesh, brads american crafts, title quickutz university, dog die quickutz.

Thanks for looking.

Well I’m back home, without Hannah.  She decided to stay in Michagen after all.   We set up her room and only had to make 2 trips to the wal mart for more supplies.  (I was telling my dad and he said, “you know they say any home improvement project is not complete unless you make 3 trips to the hardware store”)  So with that thought in mind we did a pretty good job, it only took us 2 trips not 3.  I however do have to return some stuff that was purchased and not used, so that will be another trip for a total of 3.

Her roommate is a nice girl named Lydia from Michagen.  They seem to get along quite nicely.  She also met the girls that they will be sharing a bathroom with.  So hopefully all will go well.

The only thing I know is it is along time until Thanksgiving.

As we got ready to leave I had a little bit of a melt down, but by the time we were out of the parking lot I was much better.  There are just little things around the house and thru out the day that make me think of her and bring a little tear to my eye.  I said to Rick on the way home, “if I know I was going to miss her this much, I wouldn’t have liked her so much for the last 18 years, and perhaps this would have been easier”.  Somehow I doubt it.

Make the rest of the week a great one

So our friend Trisha came over for Lunch today, to say good bye to Hannah.  After lunch we were trying to condense some of Hannahs stuff that she is taking with her.  And the discussion came around to that she only has 2 more days before we leave, and it made me remember that when my cousin was  little he would measure days in sunshines, You know its Tuesday and they were going away for the weekend and he would say only 3 more sunshines until we go.  Well then I was thinking that Catie use to measure time n sleeps.  She would always ask ” how many more sleeps until Dad came home?”  So by cousin time we have one more sunshine and then we leave and by Catie time we have 2 more sleeps until hannah leaves.  I know it is the same amount of time, but I like Caties measuring better, it just seems longer.

As I read this to rick I am crying like a great big baby, cause I am going to miss her so much.

I hope your week is a great one, and I will let you know how it all turns out when we get home.

Well with only 6 days to go before Hannah leaves the Goodbyes have begun.  Today our friends Lori, Emma and Zack came for lunch and to spend a little time with Hannah.  And then Katie S. came to say good bye, because she is leaving tomorrow for North Carolina to attend college there.  The whole family is going to miss her.  But we wish her the best.

Well I entered my Clothes Pin into an altered item contest, and I won.  I can’t wait to see what the prize is.  I am a big fan of altering things, I purchase them and have an idea what I want to do and then I never seem to finish the project, or sometimes even start it.  But this time I started and finished in an evening.  Perhaps I just need motivation to get me going.

It has been quite awhile since I have scrapped for myself, that I am getting pretty bummed out about it.  I have a project at work that I am doing for a customer and it is not really thrilling me.  The out come is great but there is something to be said about working on your own stuff.  Hopefully I can finish it this week and then move onto something else.

The count down is only one week to go.

Have a great week

So tonight I created an altered Clothes PIn that I am going to put on my desk at work.    I used October Afternoon paper and a new Squeeze punch from fiskars for the flowers.  Random buttons and ribbon.

This layout I did awhile ago, the first picture is from March when Hannah and I went to visit Ferris State, and then the other one is when we went back for Registration/Orientation.  I think my daughter has her first crush

Not sure who the patterned paper is, but the solid is colormates.  The burger is quickutz, as is the scalloped heart.  The font is Cloud Nine “foil trimmed alphas”,  I used the “threading water” punch from Fiskars

Well today our Catie is 20.  Where does the time go.  As she was getting ready for work this morning I wished her a Happy Birthday, and she asked if I felt old.  And to tell you the honest truth, the girls aging has always made me feel old.  Not so much my age cause lets face it we all strive to “age”, but the fact they our girls are now 18 and 20, is incredible to me.  They have come such a long way and I guess to some degree it is the fact that they will be leaving home soon.  Believe me there are days that that wont come soon enough, but then there are days that I never want it to come.   Enough of that cause it is making me sad.  I just want to wish Catie a great day, and I hope you get all that you deserve.

Also a post wouldn’t be complete without letting you know that there are only 11 days until Hannah goes off to school.  Our house is all a buzz with packing and making sure she has all the right stuff.  We are trying to address all the questions that come up,

loft or no loft?  how many purses do I bring?  do I need an umbrella I never use one now?  the list says a flashlight, what will I need that for?  What about a robe, I don’t have one at home why will I need one?  and the list goes on and on.

She has found her roommate and they seem to get along quite well.  I do wish her the best and am going to miss her tons.

Have a great weekend and go do something fun.
