Scrapbooking, and what goes with it.com weblog

Last Night April 27, 2008

So last night at the crop it was brought to my attention (not saying by how) that I do not blog enough.  Well I am going to turn a “page” in my life and attempt to do this on a daily basis.  I guess to some degree I’m not sure what to blog about.  Do you really care about my life.  I’m not one of those “scrapbooking higher ups” that do wonderful pages and fantastic things with chipboard and glitter.  And as for my home life, it’s just raising 2 teenage daughters and a traveling husband.  Now that I think of it there is always the wonder dog Lucy, her life is pretty exciting and I’m sure you would all love to hear about her day.

Anyway, there are alot of count downs going on in our house, from prom 5days to Graduation 29 days, Caties boyfriend coming home from Iraq 48 days, to my bff coming for cha and then spending some time in Elgin with us 85 days, hannah going off to college, never mind I’m ignoring that one.  Oh yeah there’s also 1 day till a new episode of the Hills.

Do you have a countdown going on, and if so what’s it for??

Well, it’s 8:54am and I am ready to start the day.  I have an all day crop and I can’t wait for everone to get here.  The girls that crop at my store are just wonderful and I feel so grateful for them.  The menu is chicken ceaser salad for lunch and cube steak with mushroom gravy for dinner.  Dessert today is provided by my mom and let me tell you she out did herself this time.  She made a boston creme cake and a orange cake, and they both look wonderful and I can’t wait to eat them.  I am one of those people that would eat dessert for dinner if I could.

So I now know what “TOTAL DEVASTATION” looks like.  (Don’t worry we were not involved in the earthquake that rocked Illinois)  Hannah came into the store today and informed me that her prom date was expelled from school today, he will not be able to attend prom or graduation because of this.  I feel so horrible that I don’t even know what to do for her.  My heart is breaking for her right now.  So please keep her in your thoughts and perhaps someone else will step up to the plate and ask her to go.  I offered but she turned me down.

Just wanted to let you know that one of the boys involved called hannah and they have reduced there sentence to just suspension and they will be able to go to prom and thru graduation.  Needless to say Hannah is all happy again and all is right in the world.

So it’s official, Hannah is going to the prom.  And on Saturday we went to a dress sale at Dundee Crown HIgh School, thanks to our friend Tammy for the tip.  She heard on the radio that the school was having a used and new dress sale $20.00 for a formal dress from 11-4, however Hannah works until 2 so after work we went and let me tell you it was well worth it.  There were somewhere around 200 dresses in all colors shapes and sizes.  She found about 20 tht she agreed to try on.  The very first dress she tried she fell in love with.  The tag was still on and the regular price was $259.99 then it was marked down to $109.00.  It looked so good on her that we couldn’t pass it up.  When we went to pay there was a table of jewelry that she got to pick anything from, there were make up samples and she got entered into a drawing for a “prom make over”.  As I was going to pay I said to the nice lady “this is a fund raiser, right?” she said yes,  so instead of $20.00 I gave her $30.00, I figured if they were going to save me that much money why not give a little more.  So today she is off looking for jewelry and a purse.

So my friend Stephenie aka “crop girl” issued a challenge to create a 2 page layout using 1 picture on one page and multiple pictures on the other page.  So here is my attempt.

Hannah and I went to visit the college that she would like to attend in the fall.  It was a lovely campus and we had a great couple of days.

So last night at my crop I was reading a post from twopeasinabucket, and I just have to share that I dislike the abbreviations that people use in posting there comments.  If your “DH” is actually your Darling Husband doesn’t he desire the respect of writing it out completly.  And some of them are so crazy that I don’t know what they mean.  Has society become so busy that we can’t even type out entire words and must abbreviate simple words.

This is one of my FAVORITE layouts with my new car.  I wanted a new beatle for my 40th birthday, but after dropping more hints then a chicken lays eggs, I got a cake with a beatle on it.  It was fun, but very hard to drive.
So this summer I finally got one.  She is named “mater” and I know you are all thinking thats a boy name, but when something belongs to you you can name it anything you want and it can be any gender that you decide.  Anyway she is the best little car ever.  I have owned several cars in my time, but I would have to say she is my favorite.  There are not many people that I have allowed to drive it, the girls are allowed to move it into the street if thier car is infront of it and they need to leave before I do.  Rick is allowed (yes I said allowed) to drive it on the weekends if he wants.  Howver he says that it feels like he is a kid and taking his mom’s car.  And I am okay with that.  Nobody but me has to love her and I do.    Is there something that you love and have a hard time sharing with others? Leave me a comment by April 9th and I will pick one and send a RAK
